How We Met
One spring day in 2016, Vinny was visiting friends for a party at UMass Amherst but fate had other plans. Little did he know that a random party next door would change everything. Diana and her friends were hosting their own gathering, and when the two groups merged, sparks would fly – and neither of us knew it yet. Those sparks were actually Vinny's best friend Mike and Diana's best friend Alicia who met that same day and immediately fell in love. We all became part of the same friend circle, casually crossing paths over the years but never really connecting. We were both living separate lives and had no idea what the universe was cooking up.
Unexpected Sparks down the Shore
Fast forward to 2021, during our annual 4th of July beach weekend on Ortley Beach in NJ. We were both single, but definitely not expecting to find love that weekend. Diana was working on her laptop when Vinny arrived, and suddenly – everything changed. That weekend was a whirlwind of shy glances and playful flirting. With a little nudge from our friends, Vinny finally made his move under a sky full of fireworks. Talk about dramatic timing!
Our First Date and Beyond
Our first official date was at Tall Ship in East Boston – lawn games, oysters, and Aperol spritzes with a stunning harbor view. We spent the next few years exploring East Boston together, making memories at Piers Park. Diana knew it was real when her dog Penny started to like Vinny - if you know anything about Penny, she doesn't open up very easily and is hard to impress! In a perfect full-circle moment, Vinny proposed at the very spot of our first date in June 2024.
Our Shared Roots
What truly brought us together was our incredible Italian roots. Diana, a 2nd generation Italian-American, and Vinny, a 1st generation, found a deep connection in our shared cultural background. It's only fitting that we're celebrating our love in the beautiful country our families once called home. We can't wait to bring all our loved ones to Italy and start this incredible journey together!
