Flights & Transportation
Including distance to our venue
Suggested Option
• Milano Linate Airport (LIN) - 1 hour by car, 2.5 hours by train
Alternative Options
• Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) - 1.5 hours by car, 3 hours by train
• Milano Bergamo Airport (BGY) - 45 mins by car, 2.5 hours by train. Please note: Bergamo Airport primarily serves domestic and short-haul European flights. It’s best accessed via connections from other cities in Europe, rather than long international routes
• Venezia Marco Polo Airport (VCE) - 2 hours by car, 3 hours by train
Suggested Option
• Shuttle: We will be organizing a shuttle from Milan to the venue on Tuesday, June 23rd, before guest check-in. If you'd like to reserve a spot, please fill out this form. Shuttle details will be shared closer to the date!
Arrival Recommendation
We highly recommend arriving in Milan at least one full day before our wedding events begin. Flying in by Monday, June 22nd and staying overnight will help you catch the shuttle without any rush and give you time to adjust to jet lag so you’re ready to celebrate with us all three days!
Alternative Options
• Private Driver: Our wonderful planners have several trusted private drivers available for airport pick ups / drop offs. If you prefer this option, please text Marco Bernuzzi on WhatsApp at +39-338-792-7492 to coordinate.
• Car Rental: You are welcome to rent a car if you prefer more flexibility. However, please note that cars are not allowed on Monte Isola (it's a small island!). You’ll need to park your car in Sulzano near the ferry terminal. We recommend arranging parking in advance.
• Train: If you'd like to travel by train, we've put together a Train Guide to help you navigate from Milan to Sulzano
Once you reach Sulzano, head to the ferry station at Sulzano Point 1.
You will need to purchase a ferry ticket at the terminal.
Ferries run regularly, and the schedule can be found here.
Board the ferry from Sulzano Point 1 to Peschiera Maraglio Point 3 on Monte Isola.
Helpful Tips for Traveling to Italy
Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, here are a few things to keep in mind to make your trip smooth, easy, and full of la dolce vita.
Travel Tips
Passports: Double-check your passport’s expiration date! You may not be able to fly with a passport that is expiring within 6 months of your departure date. If you don’t have a passport yet, it can take up to 6 months to receive—apply early!
Cash & Currency: Euros are the currency in Italy. To avoid high airport exchange rates, consider ordering Euros from your bank or AAA before your trip.
Credit Cards: Many places do not accept American Express. Make sure to bring a Visa or Mastercard.
Outlets: Italy uses type C or F plugs (European standard). Bring an adapter if your devices aren’t compatible!
Dining in Italy
Water: Water isn’t served automatically at restaurants—you’ll need to ask for it (“una bottiglia d’acqua, per favore”).
Tipping: Tipping is not expected. Most servers are paid a living wage, so tipping is entirely optional.
Stuzzichini: It’s customary for bars to serve small complimentary snacks (called stuzzichini) with alcoholic beverages. Italians never drink without a bite to eat!
Everyday Italian Phrases
Here are a few helpful phrases to get around:
